I admit I'm having a problem focusing on a lot right now; on some level I feel like it's somehow insulting or trivial to discuss mundane things with all that's going on in the world. But oh well. This is my corner of it I guess. 1. Interview with Mel Riley is back on now. This should happen sometime in the next week or two, and should end up being published around mid-April. 2. Interview with Ed May is about 1/3 done. The questions were serious and he was taking real time to answer as completely as he could and then got sidetracked by work someone was paying him for, lol. That will eventually wrap itself up. I was going to publish what we had and changed my mind. Then to him we'll have already done one interview. I think I have more guilt leverage if "the" interview is still hanging in the air LOL. 3. I was thinking about what "serious" (!) "focus groups" do in other subjects. Often, they pick a given book that is either about the topic or simply related to it, and chapter by chapter, discuss that. You know, addressing the subjects covered in each chapter. It occurred to me that we could do this with any of the books in the field if anybody's up for that. If so, I would almost like to go back in time to an early one, like say McMoneagle's MIND TREK, and then work our way up to the present. There aren't that many books in the field frankly. And then once we got to the present, we could pick up many of the older classics such as the ones Targ is republishing. And maybe a couple of those in the 70's but they are hard to find for most people. It would be educational. (I am secretly a luddite, is why this is creeping in. :-)) And it might give a chance for many list members who don't feel they're "qualified" (?!) because they're either new or not practicing, a chance to participate in something, regardless of one's interests or activities, anybody can have thoughts about a book. 4. The 'project' I mentioned previously is going well. I'm kinda busy and my main coworker for it is going on vacation for a bit, but we're hoping to open it around mid-April. 5. I went looking for RV FAQ links the other day. Aside from the main one on the parapsychological association website, and one on my website, and some more specifics-oriented/personalized on Joe and Lyn's website, I didn't actually find any! I went to all the RV websites on my lists. So this made me think that perhaps, given the people on this list represent a variety of methods, perhaps we should create a form of FAQ. But instead of coming to any consensus, which would be impossible (as I once argued on the stargate list), we just come up with questions, and then one at a time, everybody who wants to contribute an answer can. Then when it's done I'd wrap it into an RV FAQ and post it on firedocs as an alternative to the one I wrote personally. That would seem more like one from "the field". Anybody who's interested say Ay. First we should work on the Q's. Well, gotta go. I have to work on sewing some pretty little skirts with lace and beads all over for my six year old. And our new tangerine shower curtain with colorful daisy rings is supposed to go up this weekend (for Spring!). LOL. It's so funny, how much stuff I buy is based on what she would like. I've worn stuff she's made me around town before. People look at me funny, this lopsided big garish plastic beaded necklace for example. ;-) Motherhood really does warp yer brain. PJ Reply | Forward

I just don't know how you manage to do all you do PJ..you are a source of constant wonder to me! If you could please package up and send me just a tiny bit of your enthusiasm and boundless energy I would be sincerely grateful :-). I like the book idea, and talking about individual chapters one at a time would give us the chance to dash off and dig out our old copies to have a quick 'swot' before discussion starts ;-). Kind regards, Glyn > Well, gotta go. I have to work on sewing some pretty little skirts > with lace and beads all over for my six year old. We started one back on Farsight on Cosmic Voyage. :) It didnt go very far for obvious reasons. > And maybe a couple of those in the 70's but they are > hard to find for most people. Yeah, I think there were some interesting stories there, some things I wondered why we never heard any more about. > 5. , we just > come up with questions, and then one at a time, everybody who wants > to contribute an answer can. Anybody > who's interested say Ay. First we should work on the Q's. I would like to see in one place the various theories from expereinced/professional viewers. If we have to start with "What is RV?" ohh well, but then I want to know what everyone says RV is good for. What accuracy rates for what types of targets? How important is structure? Do I really need a black pen? How many ideograms should I do? How do changes made to the original CRV by TRV and SRV (etc) improve the data? Who invented hrvg? Rich
