Dear PJ,
I'm not sure I understand Fortunes comment but it
makes me laugh hilariously for reasons I almost
understand.
Here's my contribution:.. If you BELIEVE you should
NOT use RV to make money..you won't. And also if you
CAN'T make money with RV because of insufficient skill
you won't . And if you believe you can and are
actually skilled enough, but DON'T TRY..you won't make
any money.
Best Regards,
bill

Hi Bill,
Actually, I didn't totally grok her comment, and am not sure I grok
how it inspired yours, but I do understand what you're saying. ;-)
Reminds me of that saying, "There are three kinds of people: Those
who are unmovable, those who are movable, and those who move." In
RV, only the movers really get somewhere, and it apparently takes
both talent and extended proper practice. The few I know who are
really good say that, so I believe them.
I could be wrong about that last part. Angela Thompson Smith says
she has got an "accelerated" CRV course ready and that with "proper"
training people will be ready to do operations immediately after.
Clearly I've been out to lunch on CRV. I didn't think it had changed
so radically in the four years I was gone. Last I heard 'extended
proper practice' was a prerequisite for truly decent and consistent
ability regardless of training or even talent.

Hi PJ,
Well I keep hearing Joe McMoneagle saying you are
never really any more accurate than when you first
learn the "rules". You get more consistent with
practice but not more accurate. I think you recognize
you are on the signal line and you learn to get there
more often but never really much more accurate ... I
personally think beginners can do first rate stuff if
they can stick to the very basic rules. I've seen it!
My brother-in-law a scoffer and debunker type took his
wifes dare ( my sister Dori) to do RV and she chose a
picture of a green hot rod with fire stripes down the
side and chrome mufflers...
Well he sketched in great detail EXACTLY THAT! Colors,
shape of car everything.
When she showed him the picture..he turned gray as a
ghost ripped the picture to pieces and walked out of
the room and refuses to talk about it or try it again
to this day. Nevertheless.. WOW!
Things like this make me wonder if RV is not guided by
a somewhat mischevious spirit...G
BTW his only instruction was: ..make a free hand
ideogram..write down single word first impressions..
avoid conclusions and then sketch a summary.
Best Wishes,
Bill

Moderator's note: Right out of the gate, most people do
pretty well, before their psychology figures out what
is going on, lol. Btw just because one may not get all
that much more accurate in terms of what the LAB measures,
does NOT mean that one does not get more data, more data
that is accurate, that is more detailed, that is better
understood by the viewer. Only that if someone is rank
judging/comparing, the accuracy in that doesn't change a
great deal. I have decided not to stress on this aspect of
things. If I only did what someone told me I could do, I'd
not have accomplished half the things I've done in life.
