From: "waterway_21 " Date: Fri Feb 7, 2003 12:33 pm Subject: music a s target waterway_21 Has any research been done using music as the target? It just seems that since humans are such "visually oriented" creatures, that targeting visuals all the time invites gobs of AOL. I know that emotional and tactile info is gleaned from CRV, but what about sound? And specifically, what about using a SONG or a piece of music as the target. The Monroe Institute uses sound to get the brain ready for RV and such..... makes sense that music would make a good target....? Given the dynamics of AOL, just the opposite may be true though. I am just curious if anyone has tried. Thanks. -Benton Reply | Forward

I wonder whether we would actually pick up parts of a tune, or actual words if it is a song, or whether we'd report associated impressions connected with the title of the music or what it brings to mind, ie whether something like the '1812 Overture' would result in the sights and sounds of war, or Beatle songs result in images of John, Paul, George and Ringo...or even perhaps hippies and flowers. It would be an interesting experiment to try, and may give some insights in how our mental processes work during RV Regards, Glyn -----Original Message----- From: waterway_21 [mailto:bbogle...ration.com] Sent: 07 February 2003 18:34 To: pjrv...oups.com Subject: [pjrv] music a s target Has any research been done using music as the target? I think you are correct Benton. But it was always music that drew that particular viewer for some reason. trypper
