Subject: A dream I had last night gebega
Hi all,
What is reality? Is what we experience in our day to day life all there is to
it, or is there something else? Oh I do hope so :-? ).
The dream...
This morning I was dreaming about a college course I had taken a couple of years
ago, a course of evening classes that I had to stop because I had to go into
hospital and have an operation. I was almost awake, and was 'popping in and out'
of this dream, half awake and half asleep. Just before I awoke, I remember
dreaming about the time I was talking to my sister, after my operation, when I
made the final decision not to carry on because I had missed too many lessons.
I must have regained consciousness just about then, and I was lying there still
dozy, and got to thinking about my teacher, (didn't think he was much good
really? ), and regretting that I couldn't have carried on. I thought about the
lessons and the people in the classes, and that the next little exam I would
have had to take was about 'The environment', and I just couldn't do it because
I had missed most of the lessons, and I just didn't think I could catch up. It
had been very disappointing. I thought all I had learned up to then was really
interesting though, and I started to think back about it............ I had a
heck of a shock when I realised that I couldn't get any further, I couldn't 'get
a handle' on those memories about the course. They skitted away from me as I
went after them, they were there, but not in my reach.......I couldn't even
remember what the wretched course had been called!!
Then I realised, with quite a start, that it had *all* been a dream! I had never
been on such a course! I had brought a full set of memories up from dreamland
into my conscious awareness.....a full set of memories of a past event that did
not exist. I had the operation, yes, that was real, but the course wasn't. It
was disturbing, and I can now understand how, if you got 'stuck' in that
situation (getting fantasy mixed up with reality? ), you could lose your sanity
(or appear to have done so? ).
The thing is, that the feeling that came with that experience was so different
to *anything* I have ever had before (and I have had lucid dreams and OBE-type
experiences so I know what they feel like? ). Those memories seemed so very real,
not like those conjured up by imagination at all.
I'm wondering.....Did I gain access to my own memories in a different
'dimension' of existence, where I led/lead a slightly different life? Sounds
ridiculous doesn't it?
I have heard of others (can't quote sources, but some may have seen them too,
or even had such experiences? ), who have woken up after sleep with a set of
memories which, for them, in this life, are not founded on reality, they just
appear to be dreams...but are they? I'm wondering.....Did I gain access to my
own memories in a different 'dimension' of existence, where I led/lead a
slightly different life? I had the operation in that life too, but took a course
that doesn't exist for me here.
Yes, in the cold light of day it sounds fantastical....but we RVers have an
advantage in that we do *know* that there is something 'else' at work...because
RV works, we have proven it to ourselves at least. I think 'psi' will eventually
fit within the laws of physics, even if we don't know all those laws yet. Maybe
those particular laws don't only have to cope with *our* reality; maybe they
span others too because that's how it works... Perhaps that's why 'psi' is so
'flippant'.
Maybe it was just a dream after all though :-? ). I thought I would post it
because it was so unusual, and 'felt' different..and RVers will know what I mean
by that. Besides, it also fulfils PJs requirements in order to stay on the list
;-? ).
Kind Regards,
Glyn
(PS. Most of you will know I am a 'future memory' buff, and I'm not going on
about it again, but to be able to access your memories in an alternate
'dimension' of existence......now wouldn't that be something else!? Mr Dunne,
mate, wherever you are... you may have been a genius..perhaps Serial Time does
exist after all. However, the idea of serial 'me' going on forever is a little
disturbing.....hope I get to be slim and beautiful sometimes..LOL!? )

Hello all,
Has anyone read the May edition of 'Scientific American'?. I bought it the
day after I posted the mail about my dream. This month there's a long
article called 'Parallel Universes'. It's fascinating, and well worth the
read if you're interested in that sort of thing. I know that kind of
thinking used to lie in the realm of metaphysics and was scoffed at by
'real world' scientists...but now we have the 'magicians' of quantum physics
and such speculations are not scoffed at quite so much anymore ;-? )? )? ). Things
are definitely changing. These perfectly rational scientific types actually
think these other dimensions do exist. Absolutely. It is even thought that
there are 'multiverses' of these things floating around, and maybe all
around us but we can't see them...... and some of these universes
(dimensions? ) contain exact duplicates of ourselves living the exact same
lives, and then again some others contain ourselves but with lives that
don't pan out in quite the same way. For example, like in my dream....there
could be a universe where I *did* take that course. Universes containing
'me(s? )' stretching into infinity, each differing only slightly, and some
differing radically....covering *every possible eventuality*. Also universes
which don't contain 'me' at all...well not as I know and love me anyway.
LOL!
If these things are infinite perhaps there are some universes where I was/am
Napolean ;-? ). Perhaps some where I may even be *You* LOL!! Wow! I
recommend anyone interested in having their minds boggled to go out and buy
that mag.
It's a coincidence that my dream led me down the path of thinking about
parallel universes and then I should go pick that up the next day, but then
maybe not ;-? ).
Cheers for now,
Glyn

I hate it when that happens (LOL? ).... to have memories and entire series of
events pop into rememberance.... of things that did not happen in my life.
It happens most in dreams or in that hypnagogic state, but it also happens,
though more rarely, just in passsing during the normal events of the day. I
always chalked it up to neural mis-firing or some after-effect of all the
dissociative, altered state practice I do with meditation or binaural beats.
I will be very interested to hear what other, more experinced folks have to
say on the topic.

Hi Benton!
Someone once said that as you get older your memories
reduce to the things you did and the things you did
not do. At first I thought it had to do with success
and failure. But there is a component that goes back
to my original 'programming'. That is what appears to
be happening to me. I can access these memories in a
conscious, semi-conscious and unconscious state but
uncontrollably. It is all perception from there.
Perhaps it will become more clear when we finalize the
first 'intuitive' or 'psi' computer - just look what
the 'logical' one has done.

HI GLYN,
I have always had a gut feeling that this must be
true, and am really pleased to see some scientific
effort in that direction. The "Brane" theories as they
are called predict that light and energy and mass
can't pass from one universe to another..but that
GRAVITY can.. well if gravity can, I'll bet anything
that PSYchic INFORMATION can also. Which may turn out
to be the only way we can investigate these other
universes.

Hi Glyn,
IMO, there certainly does seem to be a lot more to reality than what we
experience in our day to day lives with our five senses, as most of us find
out once we start researching, delving into and practicing psi and spiritual
activities -- at least it has worked out this way for me!
> The dream...
> .....Did I gain access to my

To me, it does sound like a distinct possibility -- but I have no idea how
one would know for sure.

I agree. Didn't Joe M point out in one of his books about the difference
between believing and *knowing* -- how one really *knows* only when it has
happened for them, personally? This happened for me over 30 years ago, when
I had a precognitive dream with so many specifics that it left absolutely no
room for doubt that psi does indeed exist.
>I think 'psi' will eventually
>fit within the laws of physics, even if we don't know all those laws yet. .
I think so, too, and it already seems to be going in that direction.
Michael Crichton, in his factual intro to his novel "Timeline," says that at
the end of the 19th century, many scientists believed that the basic
principles governing the behavior of the physical universe were already
known, and that the study of physics was almost complete, with no more big
discoveries to be made. And they had only just discovered the electron, and
X rays, etc.... Good thing all of them didn't think that way, LOL. (I'm not
really laughing at them, since fortunately the world doesn't have to rely on
people like me to discover stuff, or else I'm sure we'd all still be living
in caves, wondering how to heat up the caves in winter LOLOL.? )
>(PS. Most of you will know I am a 'future memory' buff, and I'm not going

Well, I'm a future memory buff, too, so you can go on about it all you like!
:? ) And yes, it would be great to be able to access our memories in
alternate dimensions and timelines, for sure, IMO!

Does anybody know how I can buy (order? ) any of the following items:
* A balanced pendulum.
* Cola nut (whether fresh or precut into Obi? )
* Caracoles (Cowry Shells? ) (I'd also like detailed instructions on how to
use them - all I have is S. Jason Black and Christopher S. Hyatt's
symplified system for uninitiated westerners.? )
* Dowser's Y-rod
* Dowser's L-rod
* Dowser's Bobber
I'm going to check with some appropriate stores this weekend who would be
interested in helping me _if_ they can find a supplier, but I thought I
should check with this quite knowledgeable and diverse group first.
And, yes, I know that most or all of these things can be easily obtained
in a "good enough" form quite easily, but I want to get quality tools.

Hi Jim,
Did you try some New Age Book stores? They may have or may be able to order for
you what you seek. That is about the only place I can think of other than some
dowser's association in your area which may also have some of those items.
Good Luck,
Barb

A few years ago I had a dream that was soooo real, and it seemed like it
lasted forever! I was exhausted when I woke up, worried, and trying to
figure out if I was still in high school or not. I thought I was still in
school for the first few minutes I was awake. In the dream, I was a senior
in high school and was working frantically to try and get some papers done
at the last minute, because I wouldn't be allowed to graduate if I didn't
get them turned in on time.
?3 years ago in real life my Government teacher, Mr. Matlock, said to me
toward the end of the year "Humphries - if you don't start turning in some
homework real fast you're not going to graduate with the class of '80".
Even though the dream was very similar to a real experience, I knew right
away that it was symbolic of something else that was currently going on
during the time period that I had the dream.

Hi Glyn,
It could be extra-dimensional. I wouldn't rule that
out. But this sounds like a classic metaphorical dream
relating to something going on in your life ( a "life
class"? ) that you had to stop now because it really
wasn't getting you anywhere and the teacher wasn't so
good..G

Bill
